FLICKR

Flickr is the online image storing and sharing solution best suited to the needs of the BBCC.

Flickr is an image and video hosting website, acquired by Yahoo in 2005. Users can store and share photos and videos on Flickr. Photos can be stored singly, in albums, or in collections; and they can be made public, private or just shared with friends.

Flickr has free accounts with a limit of 1,0000 photos. It also has paid accounts for about US$50 per annum with unlimited storage. It is recommended for all BBCC members to become Flickr users, after which they can become a member of the BBCC Flickr group, where they can see and comment on the photos of other members, and share their own photos.

What to do after joining Flickr

After you have signed up for your Flickr account and uploaded your images (making sure that they are "visible to the public", go to www.flickr.com/groups/3049804@N24/members/ and click on the "Join Group" button to become a member of the Shoalhaven Bushwalkers group. Your images will then be readily available for display to all members of the Bay and Basin Camera Club who are also Flickr members.

Create BBCC album(s)

In Flickr, create a BBCC album and put all the images you have submitted for BBCC competitions in it. Better yet, create two albums - one for your Open photos, and one for your Set Subject photos - so fellow club members will know where to look for your BBCC photos.

Follow people!

In Flickr you can "follow" people, which means you will be notified by email when they add photos to their albums. People can also "follow" you, so they will be notified when you upload new photos to Flickr.

Comment

Once you are a Flickr member, you can post comments about photos and people can post comments about your photos. If you would like to receive comments about your photos from more than just the one judge on our competition nights, ask your fellow members to post comments on your images!
